The first sports magazine I have chosen to analyze is the Sports Illustrated Julio Jones feature. The cover page is a smokey black color with the title in black and the sub-title in white. To match the black color scheme Julio Jones is wearing an all black cape. Julio Jones' photo is the focus of the magazine cover, vertically stretched to cover the whole page. Other articles featured on the front page are of other professional athletes or football-related articles. These articles tend to be about twenty pages apart with adds or other short-stories in between them. At the bottom left corner, an add for Sports Illustrated TV is featured to promote readers to subscribe to their TV channel as well. Sports Illustrated has approximately 3 million distributions and has been recently nominated for both the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage and the Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Digital Innovation.
